How to Know When It’s Time to Grow

Posted on September 4, 2020

Have you ever wondered why some friends just drift away? Or why some situations end through no fault of your own?

Time to Go

In 2004, my guides suggested a move back to Atlanta was needed. In response, I ignored my guides.

Three years later, my job and relationship ended abruptly. It was time to leave the mountains I dearly loved and return to the city, so I rented a U-Haul, packed up my animals and worldly possessions, gave my boat to my ex and headed south.

I hadn’t lived in Atlanta for many years. How would I make it there after living in the mountains for so long?

As I was driving that big U-Haul towards Atlanta, I asked myself: “What do you want to do?” I answered: “Fiber optics are cool. I’d like to get into the field of fiber optic technology.”

The wish was a far cry from my life experience up to that point. However, I didn’t tell myself it was unrealistic; I just threw my wish out to the universe and didn’t think about it again.

A year later I received a phone call: “Could you come in for an interview? We are looking for someone with (your) background to join our team.” I knew in that moment that my wish had been answered.

“Use the talents you possess; for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the very best.” – My Grandmother, Cleo Delaney

My point with this story is the universe guides us to a path of new opportunities that we can ignore or embrace. In fact, the universe will give us signs to literally push us in the right direction, says Meghan Olsgard, author of infinitesoulblueprint.com.

“The universe gives us signs through people, events and circumstances without us even realizing that we are asking.” – Meghan Olsgard

So how do you determine if it’s time to make a move?

Is your inner voice telling you to check out a specific place? Are you tired of the weather and want something better? Are you trapped in nostalgia or have bad memories associated with where you are living now? Have your goals changed?

The signs are there if you are willing to listen. For more tips on the subject of moving visit: https://blog.unpakt.com/15-signs-that-its-time-to-move-to-a-new-city/

Why Did My Relationship Have to End?

Oftentimes my clients ask about relationships. My guides usually indicate whether the relationship is over or salvageable. If it is salvageable, my guides will offer tips on how to get the relationship off of life support and onto firmer footing.

But why do relationships have to end?

There are many answers. Essentially, people grow and change at different rates. One person may change in a relationship and the other person may remain the same. The relationship may fade away or end abruptly as a result. You may try to resurrect the relationship, but things seem to keep getting in the way. So how do you know when it’s time to move on once you’ve initially parted ways? If you can answer in the affirmative to the following, it’s time to let the relationship go, according to aconciousrethink.com.

  • You don’t miss them.
  • They drain your energy.
  • They hold you back.
  • You make up reasons to avoid them.
  • You have nothing in common.
  • You disagree on a fundamental level.
  • You’re always looking for new friends.
  • You wouldn’t be friends if you met now.
  • You are holding a grudge.
  • It’s become one-sided.
  • You find them negative.
  • You only hang out together in groups of people.

There is Still Hope Once You Let Go

While no one wants to be alone because a relationship or other situation you’ve enjoyed has ended, all hope is not lost. Jack Canfield, motivational speaker and co-author of the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” series, says sometimes you have to go through hard situations to be where you are supposed to be.

“Everything you want is on the other side of fear.” … “When you’ve figured out what you want to ask for, do it with certainty, boldness and confidence.” – Jack Canfield, speaker and author

Your Higher Guides are With You Always

Whether you call on God, your angels, or seek spiritual help in another way, your guidance is always a manifestation of the Divine in you, says Aletheia Luna and Mateo Sol, authors of lonerwolf.com.

“Even obstacles and roadblocks can be sacred signs from the universe and gifts in disguise, helping us to realign with our true-life paths.” – Aletheia Luna and Mateo Sol

Your guides may step in – not to harm you – but to gently guide you onto the right path. If you are stubborn like me, you may be told to stop what you are doing in a number of ways including losing things, experiencing delays or feeling sick or anxious. Instead of getting frustrated, consider asking the question: Am I on the right path? Then check in on the physical level. How do you FEEL? Thank the universe for the heads up, try laughing at the roadblocks, and meditate on the situation.

Making a Change

So how do you shift from feeling sad, lonely or frustrated to feeling more optimistic about a situation that has ended? Express gratitude for the positive things in your life, find something to laugh about, listen to something that motivates you, or take a walk.

I find that listening to uplifting meditative music is always helpful, such as Positive Aura Cleanse – Music for Body and Spirit. Above all, be patient with yourself. It’s OK to be sad when something has ended. Change isn’t easy, but change we must.
