Last week I was talking with my cousin who lives about a block away. She told me she was concerned about a neighbor who she thought may be dead.
The lady was a recluse and did not speak to the neighbors, so they knew very little about her. My cousin said she had called the police department to check on the lady a couple of weeks ago, but the police officer chose to leave after knocking on the door. He told my cousin, “The door was locked. No one answered, so I left.”
I told my cousin I would check it out. Once there, I noticed her mailbox was overflowing with letters and bills. There were month’s old packages on the doorstep with the lady’s name on them. I saw notices from the city demanding that she trim her grass.
While there was no detectable scent of death outside of the house, I “heard” inside my head she had died in her bed a couple of months previously.
My guides told me to call out her name in an authoritative manner (sound like her brother!). Loudly, I said, “Holly Knight Open the Door! Open the Door Holly! The police cannot investigate your death unless you open the door!”
Holly wanted her body to be found so she could find peace after death. It was as simple as that.
I went to the end of the driveway and noticed her next-door neighbor collecting mail from her own mailbox. I asked her if she had noticed any activity. She said no. I asked the neighbor to call the police department and tell them that she could smell death outside of the house, and the smell was coming from the bedroom window. I told her to ask the police department to conduct a welfare check, and then I left.
When police officers arrived several hours later, they were stunned to find the front door standing wide open. They walked inside and found her body. I believe in my heart that Holly knew she had to open that door somehow if she was to find peace. Whether it was divine intervention, my guides, or Holly’s spirit that opened the door, I will never know.
The next day, Holly’s name showed up on my computer in an unrelated search. I believe that was her way of thanking me.
After Death Communications (ADCs)
After Death Communications help people connect with friends and loved ones who have crossed over. Alternatively, the communication may be from someone you don’t know, if you have the ability to “listen.”
According to the Windbridge Research Center, there are four types of ADCs: spontaneous, facilitated, assisted and requested. Several clients have expressed concern when contacted spontaneously. Rather than being frightened by a dead person making contact, I suggest to clients to consider it an honor when receiving communication from the other side because it indicates they are perceptive enough to enable contact. Also, ADCs are fairly common as they are considered a natural part of the grieving process.
- Spontaneous ADCs include:
- Sensing someone’s presence
- Seeing, feeling, hearing, and smelling someone familiar to you
- Conversations with a loved one who has departed
- Dreams
- Hearing songs that are timed to your thoughts of them
- Communication through your electronics
- Unusual natural phenomena
- Symbolic messages
- Other unusual activity
Facilitated ADCs are experiences you may have when a psychic connects to your dead friend or loved one. Generally, these facilitations help set a person’s mind at ease. Additionally, the deceased person may provide additional instruction to the individual who is Assisted. Surprisingly, even those that are unpleasant people in life may change after death as the other side is filled with all-encompassing love, so they no longer experience the human emotions of anger, fear, sadness, jealousy, or hatred.
A Requested ADC is when the individual invites the deceased friend or relative to communicate. Requested ADCs can occur in our dreams or with specialized tools such as a spirit box, which uses radio waves to communicate with the dead. WikiHow offers a description of what to expect when using a spirit box.
I’ve experienced spontaneous ADCs in graveyards and occasionally when someone dies unexpectedly and needs help. In 2007, I found myself driving through the night trying to find a young man’s body. Justin Gaines was 18 when he was accosted outside of a Georgia bar. He reached out to me after he was murdered. Sadly, I never did find his body and neither did the authorities; I suspect it was moved shortly after he was killed.
Spirit boxes are an effective tool to communicate with those that have passed. Once I used a spirit box in a Tennessee cave. It was as if the floodgates had opened. There was a lot of spirit communication that day. I believe those spirits were grateful to have a voice.
