Dream Maker: The Inspirational Story of Charlie Rocket

Psychic Viewpoint

Recently, I was walking my dog around the neighborhood when I noticed a large, colorful RV parked at the high school. The vehicle was named “Charlie Rocket’s Dream Machine.” I took a closer look and noticed that people of all ages had taken the time to write messages describing their hopes and dreams. The vehicle was covered with statements that were sweet, inspirational, meaningful and endearing.

I thought to myself, who is Charlie Rocket? That’s when I noticed a black Mercedes with dark-tinted windows parked directly behind the RV.

I couldn’t see inside the car so I knocked on the window. The driver gave me an unfriendly look as he rolled down the window. I was unfazed by the man’s expression. I asked him, “Do you know Charlie Rocket?” A young man in the passenger’s seat smiled at me, held up his hand and said, “That’s me!”

I told him how inspired I was by all of the messages of hope I had read on his RV. I asked him, “What made you decide to do this?”

Charlie stepped out of the vehicle and told me his story.

Hometown Boy Makes Good

Charlie wanted to be a high school athlete more than anything, but he believed he was too overweight to participate.  Instead, he would focus his energy on another goal. He would become a famous CEO.

After graduating high school, Charlie realized college was not a good fit, so he decided to leave and try his hand in the Atlanta music scene. While success was not immediate – he was fired twice! – Charlie refused to give up on his dream. In 2010 he formed a music management company, Street Execs, and signed multiple hip-hop artists, which eventually brought him the fame and fortune he craved.

During this same period of time, Charlie’s weight continued to yo-yo back and forth. He found himself binge-eating at night. At his heaviest, he tipped the scales at 305 pounds. Even more concerning than the weight gain: a long dormant childhood brain tumor had begun to grow.

One day, the fast food restaurant employee he saw most days told him: “You’ve got to stop coming here.” Charlie was shocked. Afterall, who turns away a regular customer? It was a wake-up call. Time to make a change.

Charlie realized that money meant nothing without his health, so he gave up his multi-million-dollar business, changed his diet and moved to California. Once there, he was challenged by a friend to become a marathon runner, which he did. In 2017, Charlie made a contract to himself. In that contract he listed goals he hoped to reach including his lifelong goal of becoming a world-class athlete. Not only did Charlie make the commitment to himself. He told his friends and family about his goals too. He would look at his contract to himself daily.

“When I made the shift from dreaming big to believing big everything changed.” – Charlie “Rocket” Jabaley

Charlie ran several marathons and completed an ironman triathlon competition. He realized his story might inspire others too, so he decided to ride a bicycle from Los Angeles to New York. He called it the Dream Machine Tour.

Charlie’s inspiring story has touched lives throughout the country and around the world. He has been on national and local news programs. He has appeared on magazine covers and was featured in a Nike national ad campaign too.

Charlie’s goal has always been to make a change in the world. Today, he hopes to inspire 1 million people. He’s taken his show on the road and is driving his colorful RV across America to give people hope and inspiration along the way. He believes his story isn’t over yet, and your story shouldn’t be over yet either. He said instead of dreaming about what you want, write it down. Tell others. Be personally accountable so you can make it happen.

Does Knowledge of the Future Change the Outcome?

Psychic ViewpointUncategorized

If you know an experience is ahead of you can you avoid it? Maybe yes and maybe no. As a psychic I listen to the “small, still voice within,” as often as possible. Recently, I was given a 15-minute heads up that someone was going to run into my car. Despite evasive maneuvers on my part, my car was hit. Advance knowledge may have resulted in less extensive damage, but the outcome was the same.

I ran through possible reasons for the wreck: Was I thinking negative thoughts thereby bringing negativity onto myself? Nope. Had I recently directed negative energy towards another person (KARMA)? Nope.

I came to the conclusion that sometimes events just happen.

If you’ve been through a traumatic experience and have asked yourself, “Why me?” “Why now?” The answer may simply be that you must go through the experience as part of your life progression. It’s certainly understandable that you may be angry, frustrated or sad, so by all means feel those feelings but then let them go. Rather than blame others or beat yourself up with negative self-talk, shift your focus and ask: “What can I learn from this experience?”

Oftentimes, the answer may be something simple. An experience may illustrate the need for greater patience, allow you to see the value of the present moment (Whew! I’m alive!), or encourage you to shift thoughts towards an “attitude of gratitude,” recognizing that while events happen from time to time you still have good people in your life and fun experiences that bring you joy.

Other times, the life lesson may be unclear. If that’s the case, it may be best to accept the experience for what it is so you can move on to better things.

Some of God’s Greatest Gifts are Unanswered PrayersGarth Brooks

When we focus on something we truly want and ask or pray for it, but the universe fails to deliver as requested, it may be that having that thing (improved health, wealth, lover, job, car, and new home) was not meant to be. Instead, your life path may involve other people, places and things that you do not know about and have yet to experience. It’s possible that the people you will meet and future life experiences you will have could not happen had you been granted those wishes.

Be Mindful of Your Thoughts
You probably know of someone who has experienced a tragedy in life but is able to push past it to accomplish great things. At the same time, another friend or acquaintance may become stuck in the “would have, could have, should have” thinking cycle and just never seems to bounce back.

One way to move past a tragic event is to be mindful of our thoughts. This can be done through meditation or shifting focus to the present – even if it’s a simple task such as washing the dishes or enjoying a cup of tea. Certainly, those that have experienced a tragedy think about it from time to time, but they don’t dwell on the event or let it define the future.

Observing your thoughts and acknowledging them is the first step towards greater self-awareness and change. Renowned Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh in his book, “The Miracle of Mindfulness,” writes about mindfulness and meditation:

“We are both the mind and the observer of the mind. Therefore, chasing away or dwelling on any thought isn’t the important thing. The important thing is to be aware of the thought.”

The benefits of mindfulness are numerous. In a 2013 study, Wendy Hasenkamp, Ph.D., discovered that those who practiced meditation had better focus and less anxiety and depression. For more on the study, click here.

Communicating With Pets

Psychic ViewpointUncategorized

Pets are sometimes perceived as simple creatures with basic needs. What I have come to realize is that animals can have more complex thought patterns and are capable of communicating at another level, if we are just willing to listen.

We carloco muge about our pets, certainly, and want what’s best for them, but we don’t always understand what their needs are. Sometimes it helps to understand a pet’s history.  Did they face early trauma – were they abused or dumped? When we lash out in anger does it bring those old, buried traumas to the forefront? Do our pets act out and do bad things based on old fears?  Do they act out because you no longer give them attention? Do they respond positively to someone you’ve just met because they are reminded of someone who was kind?

Animals respond to our energy and emotions and perceive in ways we don’t always understand, such as the way they may respond to changes in the weather or the threat posed by a stranger.

I believe in practicing mindfulness when spending quality time with my pets. The term Right Mindfulness is based on the teachings of  the eight-fold path of Buddhism, and can be defined as being aware of (in) the present moment while being connected in body-mind-spirit.   Zen teacher Thich Nhat Hanh  believes mindfulness comes when we do not assign thoughts to a situation. Likewise, Eckhart Tolle, who defines mindfulness as the Power of Now, teaches us to walk in silence.  Mindful meditation has created a heightened awareness which is useful when communicating with pets.

Mindfulness can be practiced by doing simple things such as taking a walk or washing the dishes or drinking a cup of coffee. The main objective is NOT to think. Rather, just remain firmly in the present and enjoy the moment for what it brings.

“Smile, Breathe and Go Slowly,” – Thich Nhat Hanh

As a healing channel, the practice of mindfulness is helpful to me with animals because I am less distracted by my own thoughts.  I have had experiences where my pets and even other people’s pets come up to me and ask for help with a physical ailment or past
trauma. Sometimes I am able to help and sometimes not. In one situation, I was able to help the dog’s “parents” understand what the dog dealt with in the past. I was able to give them sound advice on ways to reassure the pet and socialize it. Other times the pet may ask for help with a physical ailment such as aching joints. Giving your pet a massage is terrific and helps connect the two of you on a deeper level.

My first experience with a clairvoyant pet happened when I was six. My schnauzer and I were at the playground when a man with malevolent intentions came up to me and said a friend said it was alright to walk through the woods with him. Before I knew it, my dog started growling and looked into my eyes. I clearly heard the word, “run,” which I did. My dog started barking and snapping at the man, which caused the man to back up a little bit, and my dog ran home after me. It was at that moment that I realized that animals can communicate on the psychic level.

Take the time to practice mindfulness in daily life. It’s amazing how this one simple action can open up the lines of communication for you and your pets.
