How to Know if You Are Psychic

Posted on May 3, 2024

Every person is intuitive to one degree or another; it’s literally wired into our DNA. Intuition can play out in any number of ways. You may experience a gut feeling, or a sense of Déjà vu. Intuition can be triggered by any of the five senses or you can experience intuition from dreams or interactions with animals.

So how do you determine to what extent you are clairvoyant? Look for signs, patterns, and things that stand out in everyday life, then focus on your feelings and trust your gut instincts in response to those experiences. The most important part is to let go and trust rather than second guess things.

The Psi-Q Test by Psychic Science is an interesting way to explore the possibility. While the science is not exact, the results are fascinating.

The Four “Clairs” of Psychic Mediumship

Mind Body Green refers to the “clairs” as the four avenues of communications psychics use to provide information in a reading including: “clairaudience (hearing voices), clairsentience (recognizing feelings) clairvoyance (seeing images), clairsentience (recognizing feelings) and claircognizance (inner knowing).

Find out which clair is dominant in you. Take the quiz: https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/quiz-to-find-which-of-4-types-of-intuition-you-have.

My guides provide information in a variety of ways – sometimes simultaneously – and while all forms of communication are helpful, I find it’s best to pause for a moment to gain additional clarity.

Psychometry – A Psychic Sense Through Touch

Psychometry (token object reading) enables the person to get information through touch. According to Wikipedia, objects have an “energy field that transfers knowledge of an object’s history by making physical contact with that object.”  With this ability, people can have fun in antique stores, or flea markets, or with other people, as they too have an energy field that emits truth.

Have you ever put a hand on an antique and thought: “This is the real deal!” I love going into antique stores. One day I picked up an iron bank in an antique store and purchased it immediately. I knew the bank was worth much more than the asking price.

Once I went with a friend to a very old store in North Georgia that had been converted to a flea market with individual seller stalls. I touched items in various locations and was able to provide a historical perspective. See: Ghosts in the Antique Store.

Psychic Dreams

Instructors will sometimes change their tone to highlight important information that you may need to recall for a test. Similarly, dreams may be repetitive or highlight a scenario – however unusual  – to emphasize an important situation in your life where you may need to pay closer attention.

“Much like our dreams, intuition bypasses the logical, analytical part of our brain and taps directly into our subconscious, drawing on stored information, experiences, and patterns that we might not consciously remember or acknowledge.” – Lucid Dreaming Life

Dreams provide us with solutions by enabling us to connect with ourselves on the soul level as we are not in control of our thoughts when dreaming. Smoky quartz is a great stone to have beside your bed at night as it promotes lucid dreaming by connecting you with your subconscious. It’s also good for those that experience nightmares, according to Divinetwist.com.  By keeping a journal by your bed, you can document your dreams when you wake up, which is especially helpful.

Improving Intuition Through Dream Interpretation

Knowing what to look for in your dreams can give you a greater understanding about what’s happening in your own world as well as the greater world around you. In the early 2000s, I dreamed about the actor Patrick Swayze; I saw that he had a dark mole on his right shoulder and said to him, “that doesn’t look good, you should get it checked out.” In my dream he smiled but did not respond. In 2009, Patrick Swayze died of pancreatic cancer. I remember the dream to this day as I don’t dream of actors.

So how can you use intuition to improve understanding of your dreams?  LucidDreamingLife.com suggests:

  1. Pay attention to your emotions
  2. Trust your first impressions (what are your thoughts about the dream when you first wake up?)
  3. Track patterns (do you dream about the same person over and over?)
  4. Look for symbols
  5.  Listen to your body (how do you feel?)
  6. Ask your intuition yes and no questions
  7. Take action following your dream

Take the First Step and Breathe

Sometimes we get so caught up in every day life that we don’t take the time to breathe slowly and deeply or sit in silence for a moment to give our minds and bodies a break. In fact, mindfulness is the first step you can take to improve your psychic ability (and your life!). MindBodyGreen.com suggests that we take time to be open to our senses and trust.
